Exchange Orders

An exchange order combines a forward delivery and a reverse pickup into a single atomic operation. The rider delivers the new item to the customer and collects the old one in one visit.

When to Use

• Product replacement (defective item swap)
• Size/color exchange
• Upgrade delivery (old model → new model)

Constraints

• Hub matching: The pickup hub and delivery hub must be the same location. If they differ, the order is rejected.
• Atomic creation: If either leg fails validation, neither order is created — you won't end up with a forward order and no matching reverse pickup, or vice versa.
• Independent tracking: Each leg has its own AWB and status lifecycle.
• Idempotency: Repeated requests with the same client_order_id combination return the cached response within 10 minutes.
